M9 – quad reconnaissance drone

DSC 1620 1 scaled

The M9 is a multifunctional quadruped drone developed for the Death Fangs space pirate clan, designed for advanced reconnaissance and tactical transport operations in hostile environments. Built in 1/20 scale, this model combines industrial lines with a compact, functional design, while retaining all the gritty aesthetic typical of the Ultramini! universe.

Its armored hull, with angled and protective shapes, houses sensors and shielded communication systems, ideal for operating in interference-heavy environments. The articulated legs, equipped with finely detailed mechanical joints, provide exceptional mobility and the ability to traverse rough terrain. The front section, with its paneling and ventilation grilles, suggests the presence of cooling units and life-support systems for sensitive cargo.

Accompanying the drone is a lightly equipped female operator, also in 1/20 scale, wearing mission gear and a cap, posed in a relaxed yet vigilant stance—a detail that humanizes the scene and creates a strong narrative bond between machine and pilot. This visual interaction is meant to evoke the trust and coordination typical of special operations teams.

The M9 can be interpreted either as a fully autonomous vehicle or as a remotely controlled support unit, capable of transporting supplies, weapons, or samples collected during a mission. Its numerous panels and flat surfaces invite experimentation with custom paint schemes, from desert camouflage to urban or pirate-themed liveries.

Together, drone and operator perfectly embody the spirit of the Death Fangs: a balance of brutal technology and human ingenuity, ready to move silently through the shadows—striking and vanishing without a trace.

Field Notes
Typically deployed alongside a single Death Fangs field operator, the M9 serves both as a mobile logistical lifeline and as a forward scouting unit. Operators often form a strong bond with their assigned drone, customizing it with unique markings or combat nicknames. In hostile territory, the M9 is valued for its silence, adaptability, and ability to carry sensitive materials back to base without drawing unwanted attention.
