This bust represents a veteran of the Astartes, designed as an exercise combining digital sculpting and 3D printing. The piece was created in ZBrush, after research on Phobos armor and the characteristic aesthetics of the Dark Angels. Special attention was given to proportions, aiming to make the armor believable as wargear, while emphasizing strong surfaces and distinctive symbols: the skull with crossed swords on the chest, the large shoulder plates, and the engraved motifs rooted in their tradition. The head was modeled using my own features as reference, adding a personal element to the piece. Once the sculpt was finished, the model was prepared in Lychee for slicing, with careful adjustments to thickness and supports, and then printed in resin using an Elegoo Saturn Ultra 4, chosen for its precision in reproducing fine details and subtle textures. This veteran fits into the broader imagery of the Space Marines, sons of the Emperor, warriors who have endured centuries of endless war. The Dark Angels’ influence is clear in the stern posture and symbolic details, evoking their legacy of loyalty and secrecy.
